Yes, there are some amazing hiking options around Chamarel!
When I visited, I hiked down to Chamarel Waterfall — it’s an easy trail and totally worth it for the view and the chance to dip your feet in. Then I explored the Ebony Forest, which was peaceful and had beautiful views of Le Morne and the coastline. It’s a gentle walk, perfect if you want something relaxed.
For something more challenging, there’s the Piton du Canot trail — a bit of a climb, but the views from the top are stunning. And just nearby is Black River Gorges National Park, with longer trails through lush forest, waterfalls, and lots of birdlife.
Whether you want an easy stroll or a proper hike, Chamarel has it all!
