I was in Mauritius for Diwali, and it was a really nice experience. As evening came, houses lit up with small oil lamps, and people shared sweets like ladoos and gato patate with neighbors. Walking around Quatre Bornes, I saw families sitting together, chatting, and enjoying the night. There were fireworks here and there, but mostly, it was a warm and welcoming celebration. Simple, festive, and full of good food—definitely worth experiencing if you’re around!
